Star Spangled Banner presentation

And Gary Berg and Kelly Rhodes announced they were engaged - in style!

This is a strange one. Look closely at the spark trail, and you'll see the edges are straight - like a feather. I showed this to a few seasoned pyros, and they were fasinated with this effect.

I would call these Spumoni type colors, huh?

A couple of gold ring-shells with some willow fall-out. Very nice.

Ring shells with some massive dragons eggs.

This is a very large heart shape shell with some smaller red inserts. Nice combo!

Red, white and blue.

A very nice ring combo.

Question: Tahiti or Lake Havasu? There has been a LOT of rain, so the desert was covered in green.

(Proof it was Arizona.)

How do you improve the firecracker experience? Get an old style speaker horn and shove some crackers in.

Lyndon King (Event co-chair) on his slick bike. Frances Marquez (Volunteer Coordinator) looking on - wondering if Lyndon has finally flipped his lid.

Lyndon tearing up some asphault.

The day dawned fairly breezy, but nice. However - as soon as the sun went down, it poured for about 45 minutes. (Note the awning pole in the shot, as well as the rain in the background.)

Soon enough it was raining - hard. Everyone took shelter as the desert dumped on us.

Soon enough, it cleared up - in time to get some other product up in the air before the Public Display.

Another nice red/blue combo.

One of Bruce Steidling's rockets.

These pictures were all shot at the WPA's Western Winter Blast #16, 2005.

All of these pictures are mine, but you have permission to use them for your own personal use. If you want to use them in a publication, you'll need my permission. Besides, these pictures have been compressed for the web, and I can get you a much higher quality version of the shot!
